This past Sunday morning, I got up and while passing the backdoor, took a look out.
What to heck?
A Sharp-Shinned Hawk was enjoying breakfast.
The Sharp-shinned Hawk (Accipiter striatus) is a small hawk. In fact “Sharpies” (as they are abbreviated by North American birdwatchers), are the smallest to reside in USA and Canada, though some Neotropical species are smaller (notably the aptly named Tiny Hawk).

Great footage, Mike! I’m a big fan of rapters. The Sharp Shinned Hawk seems very similar to our Sparrow Hawk. And Loved the vocal display of the Sharp Shinned. Beautiful.
