My first job was unloading trucks at Consumers Distributing in 1980. In 1996 the company closed down, at that time I was the General Manager of a privately owned Consumers Distributing location in Whitby, Ontario; Store #308.
The two catalogues I have are the 1982/83 annual and the 1995 Superstore Catalogue. This was a special catalogue that carried special merchandise along with the regular lineup.

That was an awesome flash back to the past for me Mike. Thank you for making this
Made me feel a little bit younger watching it.
Wow!!
My first job (other than working for my parents) was at Consumers Distributing as well! It would have been in ‘82, back in CT.
I moved to CO in ‘84, where they didn’t have Consumers, and then when I moved to San Diego 4 years later I was surprised to stumble across a Consumers’ store that looked like it had just closed its doors. I had figured they had all gone under years earlier, as the one back home had shut down already. I had no idea they stuck around until ‘96. Maybe it was just in Canada they survived that long?
I’m sure I had a copy of that ‘82-’83 annual back in the day… ; )
Would you be interested in selling your ‘82-83 catalogue
Can you tell me if the 82/83 catalogue has a gijoe black jeep with black missile launcher trailer msv ?
dear mike,
My parents bought me a gold and heart shaped garnet ring for my 16th birthday from consumers in 1991. Unfortunatly my apartment was robbed when I was 21 and it was stolen along with everything else. I have been trying to get a picture of it so I can have a replica made is there anyway you could help me. I believe it cost around $39.99.
Wow what great memories!! I remember fondly I used to have the 83 or 84 catalog and I took it to the Dominican with me and I would just day dream about buying and playing with all the toys there.
I would love to get to see those pages again to relieve all those memories.
Thank you!!
I am actually looking for the catalog descriptor for a diamond ring purchased in 1995.
Consumers Distributing catalog Diamond ring Catalog #: 121509
This was an engagement ring. The diamond is lost.
Any info on this ring would really help me in replacing it.
Even if you could scan the page and send to me that would be appreciated.
If not you site gave me a glimmer of hope.
Thank you!
On the second page flip, including the cover page.
Has the quote
DIAMONDS
a lasting promise of love
A picture of #28 looks like the ring.
Thank you again -- forever hopeful.
Thanks, Mike.
The catalogue brought back many great memories of going to store with my dad and filling out those order forms. It was great because there was no scourging for the items on the shelves. The ultimate guys’ shopping experience. =)
can i buy your catalogue?
Hi Mike:
I can’t believe I found this and I’m hoping you can help me out. In the jewelery section in one of those Consumer Distributing Catalogues is an Opal ring in a white gold setting. It sits up a bit in the setting and has a diamond chip on each side. I would greatly appreciate it if you could send me a good clear close up picture of that ring.
My boyfriend bought it for me as a promise ring in our last year of high school. We just celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary and I’ve lost that ring and I want to have another one made. Would you please try to help me out with my quest.
Sincerely,
Linda
I emailed you a better version, but hope one of the rings was yours. Best of luck.
