Well, I sold the Canon HV20 and somewhat downgraded to a Sanyo Xacti HD2.
I found I was shooting video less on the Canon due to it's size and miniDV format. With the HD2, I shove it in my pocket and take it everywhere.

I love the Xacti, but I need some parts and accessories:
USB Cable: Connect dock to PC
Wide Angle Lens: VCP-L06W
Lens Adapter: VCP-AL49
Underwater Housing: EHS-510H

Enjoying the job, life and Fridays.

So I thought I’d like to build an underwater housing for my Canon HV20 Camcorder. The video shows the parts I’ve used plus the testing process. But, I don’t think I mention it anywhere, but it is 4″ PVC piping.
There is the black ABS (instead of white PVC) pipe which is a little bigger, yet all the same parts exist as the PVC.

I took the camcorder into the Home Depot to check for fit. Once I told the sales people what I was doing… add a short period of time for them to compute the idea of this guy putting his camcorder in the pool, and they were quite willing to use their Plumbing Powers to serve the vlogging community and aid me in getting the right parts for the job.

Let me figure it out…
$10 - 10′ 4″ PVC Pipe (9′ remaining)
$ 3  - 4″ PVC End Cap
$ 5  - 4″ PVC Threaded End (2 pieces)
$ 5  - Strong Aquarium Sealant
$ 1  - Glass from picture frame

I’m noobin’ it up with the new Canon HV20. Donna is assembling a lawn chair.
The video is in 480X270 resolution, a tad bigger to the regular 320X240 that most of my vlogs are. Please feel free to let me know what you think about the bigger video and if you’re concerned about the larger file size.
Attached to the HV20 is a Raynox Fisheye 0.3X lens. It’s not good when zooming, but I really like the big picture view otherwise.

No peeking. Link to camcorder information/review.

Holidays and my highs and lows of shopping for just the right camcorder. With my budget, I’m searching to get the best bang for my buck. Small size, full of features and good looking video & audio.
Canon HV10This is the Canon HV10.

I sold the panasonic DV951 camcorder. It’s just too big and heavy for a vlogger.

Picked myself up a Panasonic PV-DV951 Camcorder.

I’d like to get a new camcorder.
Good low light video, nice looking picture, 16:9, lots of manual options and … ummm… I have about $400 to work with. :)
Should I get an Xacti E1, Panasonic GS320 ???
